Leave the Change…Create a Change Friday, November 25, through Sunday, November 27

Besides offering you unique gift ideas, the merchants of Downtown Anoka will also offer you the opportunity to do something nice for our friends and neighbors. During the weekend following Thanksgiving, we encourage you to leave your change at our registers as a contribution to those who could use a little help this Holiday season. All contributions with be donated to the ACBC Food Shelf right here in Anoka County.

Hometown Holiday Celebration Saturday, December 3

It’s a true Hometown Holiday, complete with hayrides (courtesy of Roselawn Stables), carolers, Santa, and special events like Story Time with Santa and the Anoka Tree Lighting Event.

Story Time with Santa Saturday, December 3, 1:00 p.m.

Join Santa at 1:00 p.m. in the Old Post Office Building (300 East Main Street) for stories, cookies, and hot chocolate. 

Anoka Tree Lighting Event Saturday, December 3, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Tree Lighting Ceremony begins at 6:00 p.m.)

Bring your family, friends and holiday spirit for this fun and festive hometown event. Join Santa, the Anoka Royal Ambassadors and Anoka’s own Mayor Phil Rice for the countdown to light-up the holiday street lights and city Christmas tree.

You can go on a horse-drawn sleigh ride, listen to carolers, and keep warm and toasty at the on-site bonfires while enjoying cookies, s’mores, and hot cocoa. 

All activities take place near the Anoka City Hall on the corner of First Avenue and Main Street.

Schedule of Events

• 5:00 pm: Lighting of the bonfires and free horse-drawn hayrides begin
• 5:15 pm: Santa arrives
• 5:59 pm: Countdown to tree lighting
• 6:00 pm: Lighting of the tree and plaza
• Bonfires, music and hayrides continue until 7:00 pm

Girls’ Night Out Thursday, December 8, 4pm to 8pm

Enjoy an evening of Holiday shopping with your favorite girls. Participating merchants will share great specials and goodies! You might even see Santa!

Irving Berlin’s White Christmas Lyric Arts Main Street Stage November 18–December 18

In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, treat your family to a classic sure to inspire the spirit of the season. This heartwarming tale captures hearts every time. Tickets range from$14 to $25.
